PawsOnMainRx is the veterinary compounding service of Carebridge Pharmacy. Every preparation is made in a licensed community pharmacy by licensed pharmacy professionals.

2. A veterinarian's prescription is always required

We prepare compounded medications only on the prescription of a veterinarian who is licensed to practise and who has a professional relationship with your animal. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or recommend treatment, and we cannot prepare or supply a compounded medication without a valid prescription. If you think your animal needs a medication, please speak with your veterinarian.

3. About compounded medications

• A compounded medication is prepared for one specific animal, to the strength, form, and flavour your veterinarian prescribes. It is made to order and is not a mass-manufactured product.
• Compounded preparations are not reviewed or approved by Health Canada in the way that manufactured drug products are. They are prepared in accordance with the standards and bylaws of the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
• Each preparation carries a beyond-use date and storage instructions on its label. Please follow them, and discard any medication that has passed its beyond-use date.
• Compounded medications can differ from commercial products in appearance, taste, and stability. If your animal reacts unexpectedly to a medication, stop and contact your veterinarian, and let us know.
• The formulary on this website shows preparations we are able to compound. Listing does not guarantee availability of every ingredient at every time, and the final preparation is always confirmed with you and your veterinarian.

4. The information on this website

The content on pawsonmainrx.ca is general information about veterinary compounding. It is not veterinary advice, and it does not replace the judgement of your veterinarian. Decisions about your animal's treatment should be made with your veterinarian.

5. Ordering, pricing, and payment

• Once we receive a prescription, we confirm the preparation, the price, and the expected ready time with you before we begin compounding.
• Prices depend on the ingredients, strength, form, and quantity prescribed. We quote before preparing.
• Payment is due when the medication is picked up, or before it is shipped for delivery.
• Compounded medications are made specifically for your animal. For safety and regulatory reasons they cannot be returned, exchanged, or resold once prepared. If you have a concern about the quality of a preparation, contact us promptly and we will look into it.

6. Pickup and delivery

• Compounding takes place Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm. Pickup is available during pharmacy hours, including evenings and Saturdays.
• We offer free delivery anywhere in Canada. Delivery times depend on the carrier and your location and are not guaranteed.
• Some preparations are temperature sensitive. We package them appropriately, and we ask that someone is available to receive and store the medication as directed on the label.
• Please check your order on arrival and contact us right away if anything is missing or damaged.

7. Refills and dose changes

Refills are provided according to the refills authorized on your veterinarian's prescription. Any change in dose, strength, or form needs a new authorization from your veterinarian. We will contact your clinic when needed.

8. Concerns and complaints

If you have a concern about a medication or our service, please contact the pharmacy first so we can resolve it quickly. You may also raise a concern with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, which regulates pharmacies and pharmacists in the province.

9. Website terms of use

• The text, images, videos, and design of this website belong to Carebridge Pharmacy or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission, other than for personal, non-commercial viewing.
• You agree not to use the site in a way that is unlawful, that interferes with its operation, or that attempts to gain unauthorized access to it.
• We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from use of the website or reliance on its general content. Nothing on this page limits our professional responsibilities as a licensed pharmacy.
